Make Headway, a professional wellness consultant business for the veterinary industry has approached DMC to create their logo branding and a suite of materials as they launch the business.

Through consultation with Dr Cathy Warburton, the principal member of Make Headway, we devised an abstract arrangement of circles that evokes a figure reaching up.  Senior Designer, Tim Patterson, suggested drawing on aura colour theory to create the colour palette of the balls, starting with a neutral colour and reaching up to a passionate, energetic and aspirational colour.  These colours are much discussed in various theological circles and represent certain psychological states:

  • Grey – Psychological neutrality, lack of confidence & energy, dampness, depression, hibernation.
  • Violet – introverted, contemplative.
  • Aqua Green – balance, emotional healing and protection.
  • Yellow – joy, happiness, intellect and energy.
  • Orange – enthusiasm, fascination, happiness and creativity.

The client loved this approach, bringing deeper meaning to the logo, beyond the aesthetic.

DMC are creating stationary, business cards, Powerpoint templates and web signatures, as well as the website.

After seeing our work with another client, Sirecam Europe contacted us from the UK to animate and design a logo ident sting with music and effects, based on their corporate logo.

Using 3D extrusion in Adobe After Effects and dramatic lighting effects and shadows, we were able to create a dynamic stinger in three durations (14sec, 6sec & 4sec) as a package for the client to use in their video updates & TV commercials.

Tim out filming the finished clay sculpture of the late Roy Higgins.

We’ve been busy documenting the creation of the Roy Higgin’s tribute statue for Flemington Racecourse over the past 6 months.  Massively talented artist Judith Leman has sculpted a life-size portrait of the the legendary jockey out of clay over a steel and wite armature, that has just finished the sculpting stage and is now off for casting in bronze.  The final statue is set to be unveiled in October in the public area of Flemington, where he will forever gaze over the races.

We have filmed every part of the process with weekly visits to the artist’s studio, capturing the creation from sketch on paper, through to miniature maquette, and on to full-size clay model.  We have been commissioned to complete a documentary on the creation which will form part of the presentation materials at the VRC.

In the process we have helped Judith create her own website, hilighting her canine and equine artwork, and creating a new logo and business card for her business.

Horse Racing commentator Bryan Martin has contracted DMC to create the media campaign for his new venture TRANS TASMAN THOROUGHBRED RACING, a partnership between New Zealand’s Pencarrow Stud and Melbourne’s Lee Freedman Racing.

DMC have created the branding and promotion campaign, flying to the Waikato region outside of Auckland New Zealand to film interviews with Pencarrow’s stud master Leon Casey, and the horses to be syndicated for racing in Australia.

The three-day shoot encompassed some of the most beautiful countryside owned by Sir Peter Vella, owner of New Zealand Bloodstock and Pencarrow Stud, that he established with his brother, the late Phillip Vella.  It was early morning rises to bring in the foals and full-on days shooting the horses in the paddocks and parading.  As well as the luxurious european-influenced gardens, we also got to meet Melbourne Cup winning mare, Ethereal, now retired and den mother to the younger brood mares.

We were grateful for the hospitality and home cooking of Leon, and for the help of the loyal and friendly team he has at the stud.

Real Estate & Investment TV show ‘Look At Property‘ is back on air for the 9th season and we are right there with them once again.

The popular property show plays on Channel 74 (TV4Me) on Tuesday nights at 8pm and is hosted by comedian Des Dowling.

DMC produce the whole show, filming the program in the St Kilda Film Studios, and on location throughout Melbourne for Production Company Cosmic Imprint.  We also do all the post-production, from video editing, to title design, audio mix and effects, delivering the weekly show to Brand New Media who air the finished program on 74.

DMC also designed and manage the associated web-page and Vimeo Channel.

We have been involved since the inception of the show, where it started on Channel 31 as MPTV (Melbourne Property TV).

Well, we’ve had a rush on posters and event artwork here leading up to summer, with commissions from SUP-WA, AuSUP, SUP VIC and SUPSA to create logos, artwork and merchandise for the upcoming Stand-Up Paddle race season.

DMC have enjoyed a long association with SUP VIC Inc, creating the event artwork and merchandise for the last 4 years.

This year we attracted interest from right around the country, from the King Of The Cut in Perth, W.A., the SUPFEST 2015 in NSW, the 12 Towers series on the Gold Coast, and once again, the Great Melbourne Paddle in Melbourne.

We have recently been engaged by Meltzer Productions for Visy Industries to produce a video for their upcoming sales conference.

What is significant about this is the history that DMCs Tim Patterson has with both Sean Meltzer and VISY, dating back almost 20 years.  Sean and VISY was one of the first companies that Tim started editing and designing motion graphics for in the infancy of his editing & design career, whilst working for Post Production house, Tribal, in Port Melbourne.  Sean followed Tim when he moved to Digiline (now Roar Digital).

After a hiatus of several years, we are delighted to have Sean and VISY back in the fold, and look forward to working on future projects with them.

DMC have completed work for Production Company COSMIC IMPRINT for the agency Valve Communication on a new TV Commercial for the National Asthma Council Australia hi lighting the Sensitive Choice range of asthma and allergy-free products.  The community service TVC was shot in studio with DMC supervising the effects and then completing post work, including motion tracking a logo to follow the actor, appearing to stick on the face of the actor, including audio effects.  The TV commercial is slated for a national commercial TV campaign.

We have been engaged by Town & Country Farmer Magazine to develop and manage their social media campaign, to expand their readership and take the 30+ year old printed magazine into the digital age.

The traditional printed form of the journal has recently begun digital publication through PocketMags, publishing their long-running articles on tablets and for computers.  As part of this we have been working closely with them to engage new audiences through social media.

We have developed a Facebook campaign, including targeted boosted posts, ads and competitions, and already seen a tenfold increase in online engagement.  Paired with this, we are managing their Twitter campaign, to again, reach a broader audience, increase visibility and ultimately increase sales.

Max and Julie Hyde produce the magazine out of their offices in rural Victoria where they live what they write, on a small acreage farm just out of Seymour.  Utilising active practitioners in the field, their articles are broad and informative.  We see potential for an international readership outside of the cost-prohibitive arena of printed material distribution for the overseas market.  Utilising the digital editions, we are seeking to engage the major markets we have identified after an initial campaign to test the geography of those interested.

The magazine is laid-up and published through MRGraphics, a small publisher in Woodend, Victoria.

Digital Media Creations Producer Tim Patterson has been asked back to work with The Secret Team on the trailer for Rhonda Byrne’s new forthcoming book, HERO, due for worldwide release on November 19th.

Tim, who used to work at The Secret’s Melbourne office, Prime Time Productions, worked for almost five years on The Secret related products, starting with the The Secret movie, working on 42 language versions of the film. He also contributed to The Secret To Teen Power for author Paul Harrington, and adapted the Daily Teachings calendar into an iPhone App, conceiving the app, and Project Managing what had become a bit hit for the company. He previously worked on the trailers for The Secret To Teen Power and The Power books, as well as the motion graphics and editing of several ‘visualization’ videos.

DMC has been commissioned to create the new trailer for the HERO book, based on designs by Gozer Studios and The Secret creative director Nic George. DMC plans to add their own creative bent on the project, bringing the artwork to life in a short video to be used leading up to the launch of the book.

It is fantastic to be working with Rhonda, Producer Paul Harrington and the talented creative team at The Secret once again.

Digital Media Creations have commenced pre-production on a series of videos for the Social Security Appeals Tribunal.  The videos will provide an insight into the tribunal process for people who are going through the appeals hearing process, or who are thinking of appealing a decision by Centrelink or Child Support Services.  DMC are working closely with the department through the entire process, with an initial consultation period completed.  Script development is complete, and preliminary casting has been conducted.  DMC are delighted to be working with personnel from the SSAT, and look forward to shooting shortly.  Tim Patterson will Produce and Direct the project, with DOP Rob Gild shooting, David Gild will be Sound Recordist, and Marilyn Maguire is looking after Casting.  Post Production will be completed at DMC with Audio Post to be completed at Donut Digital.

Des Dowling Media in conjunction with Digital Media Creations have been contracted by Tourism victoria to produce a series of video vignettes and interviews with iconic sporting personalities showcasing some if Melbourne’s top sporting facilities. At the MCG we caught up with Collingwood great Tony Shaw.

We also interviewed Tennis legend Todd Woodbridge at Rod Laver Arena, and Melbourne Cup winning jockey Glenn Boss at Flemington Racecourse. For a change of pace, we also got a taste of George Columbaris at his restaurant Gazi.

The videos will air on Dubai television ‘Sport on Seven’ as well as a quick turnaround screening at an invite only event at the Atlantis Hotel, Dubai the day after the shoot.
